[He searches his brother's face--and then gives him a careful smile in answer.]

I know. And I would help you, too. I think--we need to be as we were. We need to be a pack. But it will not be easy to do.

[Well, that's true enough. Bran nods, dropping his gaze back to Summer again.]

And will you try warging for true? If it is something that you can do, too... you should at least try.

[Carefully, he twines his fingers through Summer's fur, and thinks a moment like that.]

If Ghost is not in the room with you--could you find him?

I've never tried.

But you could imagine. It is like that--like Ghost is in the next room. And if you remember how it feels to have the wolf dream--the way it feels--then you only have to reach for him, but in your mind, and you will find him.

It is easier to do it, then to explain.

[He smiles a little, pleased by Jon's agreement.]

You must tell me if you find success. And I think I will ask Robb of wolf dreams as well. [Robb--the thought of their brother interrupts him with something else he wanted to tell Jon.] He says that he will take you with him, when he talks with Lord Stannis Baratheon. And he said--I might go too.

[Jon smiles, not a patronizing one, but an honest one]

I would like it if you did. Although you will not find him a friendly man, he is an honorable one.

[wolfdreamer]

[He nods, relieved by Jon's agreement in this, too.]

I told Robb that I wanted to go, if it would be of some help. If he is honorable, it will be possible to at least treat with him, even if he names himself king.

He is the King in the South, Bran.

[At the very least, Robb doesn't want the Iron Throne anyway.]

Or so he's meant to be.

Then you think he will leave the North to Robb?

[wolfinthesnow]

No.

That's why you must return from where you went, and treat with him.

[Bran's stomach twists at those words. He thinks of Winterfell, and the darkness of the crypts--and Jojen's greendreams, Meera's smile, Hodor's murmured Hodors as they march north. And he thinks of the three-eyed crow, and the Wall, and what lays beyond.]
